I have used Speedify for a couple of years now in the UK and until the last month I've been very happy with it and speeds with and without Speedify have consistently been around 40 Mbps. However, for the last month and regardless of the Speedify server used, Speedify has slowed down my connection significantly. For example, today without Speedify, I am achieving 39 Mbps consistently, however, with Speedify, this drops to under 20 Mbps.
Potential users should also note that when booting up, Speedify searches through a number of different servers to find the fastest server at that time. This causes your internet connection to drop out a number of times just at the time when I most need it to read downloaded emails; you almost need to boot up and leave your computer for a few minutes to settle down.
I have checked speeds on Speedify probably around 100 times during my period of use and I have NEVER found that combining ethernet and wifi connections provides any significant increase in speed, maybe 1 Mbps sometimes but this is normal variability in speed anyway.
Be careful buying from them, they have stupid and arrogant people working there. I am a longtime client with their app Speedify, a couple of days ago I bought another app from them, Connectify Hotspot….after buying the app, on the confirmation page it said that I would receive an email with the log in information. I never got the email and sent an email to ask what’s going on. The answer was, but it is the same like your Speedify login. And how am I supposed to know that???
Since Connectify Hotspot isn’t working like advertised, I sent an email to cancel and ask for my money back, since they have a 30 day Money back guaranty.
Instead of Connectify Hotspot, they canceled my subscription to Speedify VPN. When I complained they said that now it is canceled and I had to make a new subscription, so I did just that, paid over a 100 US and on the ORDER COMPLETE site it said that I would get an email how to set up the Password. But again, I did not get any email from them and how it mostly is with companies like this, as soon as they have your money they just don’t care anymore. No email, no answer….there is no way in the app to log in, there is just a button to UPGRADE!!!!
They still live in the stone ages…there is no log in on the Website, no back end to manage the subscriptions, nothing…everything has to be done by email and nobody answers for hours. I bought it this afternoon and I am sure I will not hear from them until tomorrow.
If they treat a long time client like this, imagine how they will treat new clients. I would be careful buying from them, I will never buy anything from them again!!!!!!!!
Thank you, Volker, you just saved me some money. The only way to teach companies how to treat customers is by stopping the money flow and spread the word. In a world where companies own more and more of the planet, it gets more and more important to learn such companies where their livelihood comes from.
Not so much interested of the VPN aspect of it, but the thing where Speedify combines Internet connections is great. I'm walking down the street connected to public WiFi networks and my Spotify doesn't act up anymore. Plus I can do business calls while on the train.
