As a lifetime subscriber I have been quite disappointed with this service. Whether its connection speeds of the companies choice to police the internet and cut off p2p connections especially on US servers without informing the customer base.
I've been using windscribe for a few weeks as a lifetime subscriber and haven't been impressed at all. Yes it is very easy to setup and pick your servers but they are not fast. I'm lucky if I get 10% - 15% of my actual DL speeds based on speedtest.
I have a lifetime subscription, that I would rather pay per month for better service. ExpressVPN was 10x faster. I currently cannot torrent from US servers, which is fine because I'm closer to Canada west server than I am US west. Never the less, I get 40-60 kbps, which is 1% of my ISP full speed 45Mb connection... Soooo if you do connect to a US server while torrenting, they can somehow send a signal to disable internet to the modem entirely, requiring you to reset your modem to get internet back up. I give it 1 star for working, and one star for the security level of the VPN, but they lose 3 stars for basically being useless. Oh, and they can't pass geo restrictions or VPN/proxy detection for streaming services...
Don't know what the other 2 guys are talking about, but I personally found the speeds to be very fast. Im getting 90% of my ISP speed. Had an issue with something (turned out its on my end) and their support staff answered my email within 10 minutes with a helpful suggestion, not a copy/paste response you usually get from other companies I tried.
This vpn is a very stable, very fast service due to it's simplicity. Openvpn makes it very safe and uncomplicated to use. speeds are close to 100% of my ISP. The only thing that i like to see is that the port forwarding is opened. apart from that no comments at all. it's more like 4.5 stars.
